Public Farwell to all our readers

After 141 years, The Union Signal, the official publication of the National Woman's Christian Temperance Union (N.W.C.T.U.), is closing its doors.

Published in Chicago, Illinois, since 1874, The Union Signal served as a powerful voice for the woman's temperance movement in the United States. It began as a weekly 16-page illustrated newspaper and over time transformed its publishing schedule to bimonthly, monthly, and finally quarterly. The last edition was published in 2015.

We at The Union Signal are deeply saddened by the closure of The Union Signal. It was a pioneering publication that played a significant role in shaping American society. We honor its legacy and the critical role it played in advocating for social change.
